Clinton Lake

Clinton Lake is a reservoir located in central Illinois, about 6 miles east of the city of Clinton. The lake was created in 1978 by damming up the Salt Creek. It has a surface area of over 4,900 acres and a maximum depth of 75 feet. Clinton Lake is used for a variety of recreational activities, including boating, fishing, camping, and hiking. It is also a popular spot for bird watching, with over 200 species of birds recorded in the area. The lake is managed and maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers.
